The day is part of our exhibition Djabu Gilga Yigan / Land Sea Sky Iyirraba - A Meeting Place, opening at the Cairns Museum on Thursday 6th December.
The day will include a Welcome to Country and morning tea at St Albans Church, hosted visits to significant places at Gribble Point, Bilma and Wungu Beach, a tour of the community with locals sharing their history and stories, a visit to Yarrabah Art Centre and Menmuny Museum, and a hosted walk of the Centre boardwalk.
Yarrabah guides, Elders and school students will accompany us on the day and share their places, stories and histories with us.
Yarrabah community will provide morning tea and lunch. The Society will provide coach transport for the day, departing from and returning to the Cairns Museum. Places are limited so please book if you want to come.
This really is a wonderful and generous opportunity to see Yarrabah through the eyes of the families that are proud to call it home.

Time: Meet at Cairns Museum at 9am. Return 3-3.30 PM Cairns Museum
Cost: $28 CHS Members/ $35 non-Members
