with a cheque or money order made out to: The Historical Society, Cairns, North Queensland Inc. Membership is for one financial year starting on 1 October each year.
Monthly meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month at the Cairns Museum, beginning at 7.30 pm. At the meeting a member or visitor will read out a paper on some aspect of North Queensland history and the history of a Cairns street or ship may also be discussed. Monthly anniversaries are also read and after general business the meeting ends with a convivial cuppa.
The Cairns Historical Society and Museum are staffed entirely by volunteers.
We have a remarkable pool of talent, including people with considerable experience researching and writing the history of Cairns. Many of our volunteers have degrees, diplomas and trade qualifications in:-

plus three PhDs and two Honours degrees in Australian History
