Getting here
The Cairns Museum is located in the School of Arts building on the corner of Lake and Shields Streets in the Cairns CBD. This is a heritage listed building that was designed by Tunbridge in 1907 and constructed by Hanson & Sons in 1914.

Walk or ride here
For those on foot, we are just two blocks from the Cairns Esplanade and Cairns Cruise Liner Terminal. There are also a range of cycling and shared pathways in and out of the CBD, with bike racks available in public spaces.
Parking at the Cairns Museum
Cairns has a mix of paid and free on-street parking so please check the signs carefully. Regulated parking hours in the Cairns CBD are between 8.30am and 6pm, Monday to Friday, and 8.30am to 2pm on Saturdays. Council generally charges $1.80 per hour for its on street and off-street parking.
