Pioneer deaths in Cairns with Tracy and Trish

Are You Dying to Know?” is a curious duo creating content to remove the taboo surrounding death. Consisting of Tracy, a mortician, and Trish, who is not, they answer questions about what happens to our bodies when we die and aim to give viewers a better understanding of what goes on in the mortuary and why.

They recently visited Cairns and reached out to Dr. Sandi Robb from the Cairns Historical Society to learn about some of the interesting events at the Cairns Pioneer Cemetery. From Indigenous pre-colonial funeral customs to the maintenance of marble and sandstone monuments, vandalism, and accidental damage, Dr. Sandi had plenty of stories to tell.
